Welcome To Spotlight on the Hill
|
Friends,
Welcome to Spotlight on the Hill where Torn Ticket Alumni of Tufts University will share their stories, energies, and the love they have for life in the 21st century. The written history of Tufts University, as told by Professor Russell E. Miller, is called "Light on the Hill" because Charles Tufts said that he would put "a light on the hill" when he founded Tufts in 1852. This history of Torn Ticket, the people who energized it at Tufts, and the "thread" that holds them all together (and leads them forward) has been named "Spotlight on the Hill" not only for the musical theater that was performed there but because the generation of the early 70's will continue to shine its light as it moves deeper into this century. Started as a student-run musical theater organization in 1971 to "combine dance, drama, and music in the production of musicals," Torn Ticket (and now Torn Ticket II) has enriched the lives of thousands of people on the Tufts University Medford, Massachusetts campus. But what was it about this organization that brought so many disparate individuals together? Why did they all work so hard for common goal that seemingly had nothing to do with their majors or their future careers? And where have their lives taken them and where will they go? Some of the alumni you will have heard of; many you have not: but through their stories of life beyond graduation, you will be enriched. And it is from this web site that this next chapter of their lives will be spotlighted. If you would like more information, please fill in your name and email address and I'll get back to you.
